AENA has pledged to respect all jobs and ensure that all staff are transferred from of San Javier to Corvera. However, no dates were specified with regards to when this would commence and how long it would take, according to Europa Press.
The chairman of AENA, Juan Ignacio Lema, met with union representatives in Madrid yesterday, where he reiterated that the concession holders and the regional government of Murcia have promised to transfer all employees from San Javier to the new airport at Corvera as soon as the construction work has finished.
Lema could not provide an exact date for the planned closure of San Javier airport, as he could not provide details of when construction at Corvera was expected to be finished.
The Chairman was quoted as saying that the work at Corvera had "Only just started".
