In what is possibly the worst case of laughing in the face of the vicitims of domestic violence, it has been revealed how the inmate of an Ourense Prison is claiming a widowers pension from the wife that he murdered.
Nemesio Antonio Pisonero murdered his wife and son in 1998 and has been claiming both his own pension entitlement and the entitlement that he has as a widower despite the fact that her death was of his own doing.
The Prison Authorities in Ourense have confirmed that this, but have no authority over the personal accounts or finances of the prisoner.
The Ministry of Economy has paid 800 Euros per month into Pisonero's bank account, along with a personal pension of a further 1'600 Euros per months as part of the Civil Servants Pension fund which he had contributed to.
The Law against Domestic Violence prevents the perpetrators of any crime from inheriting any pensions or assets owned by their victims.
The INSS have confirmed that they will cease all payments and rectify the situation with immediate effect.
