The Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, has encouraged the Unitted Arab Emirates to increase their investments in Spain.
Jose Manuel Soria met yesterday with his UAE counterpart, Suhail al Mazrouie, together with Environment Minister Rashik bin Fahad, to discuss the future of joint ventures in the energy, infrastructure and telecommunication sectors.
Soria also addressed the Dubai Global Energy Forum, where he maintained that the energy sector was the driving force of world economic development, and called for further international cooperation to ensure energy supply and sustainability.
The MInister also visited the Water, Energy and Environment Technologies Fair and met with representatives of Spanish companies with interests in the UAE, and offered assistance in strengthening their bonds with the nation.
A Spokesman for the Spanish Business Council in the Emirates also confirmed that meetings between Spanish Companies and the Mubadala company - the investment arm of the Abu Dhabi government - are underway.
