A flight from Edinburgh Airport to Alicante-Elche has been forced to land ay Prestwick airport after being struck by lightning.
The Ryanair flight to was reported to have been diverted just minutes after taking off from the Scottish airport at 6.16pm.
Engineers inspected the aircraft before giving it the all clear and allowing the flight to continue, where it landed only slightly later than scheduled.
A Ryanair spokesman told the BBC: "We apologise to passengers affected by this short delay, however the safety of our passengers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority."
