More and more Brits are turning to Spain in searching for some sun after months of miserable weather in the UK. Soaring demand has seen Monarch airlines increase both the number of their flights to Spain, together with the routes that they offer as from April.
They are also increasing their number of flights to Cyprus and Portugal.
The extra flights will operate from Gatwick and Manchester throughout April to Lanzarote, Tenerife, Alicante, Malaga and Mallorca. Fares start from £40.99 one-way and are available to book online.
Throughout much of 2010 Malaga held the top spot as the most searched for Spanish destination, which prompted the Jet2 to launch their Edinburgh to Malaga service to complement their existing flights from Leeds Bradford, Blackpool, Manchester and Newcastle.
A month later, the service has been increased due to overwhelming demand that gives an indication of the continued popularity of flights to Malaga. Jet2 now offers a Monday flight from the Scottish airport - making it three a week. Speaking about the additional route, Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com said, "We are delighted with the take up of the Edinburgh Malaga flights and the demand has exceeded our expectations so we are providing additional capacity to enable more customers to enjoy flying with Jet2."
