The Spanish airports authority - AENA - has assured passengers that all of the airports in their network are operating as usuall, and are uneffected by the recent cold weather that has gripped much of Spain.
This is thanks largely to the implementation of their 'Plan Invierno' back in December of last year, which saw an investment of 3.9 Million Euros and the training of 450 members of staff specifically to tackle the effects of snow and ice over the winter period.
However, sources from the European Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) have warned that there may be problems with traffic in European airspace due to the effects of bad weather conditions, which could affect flights to and from Britain, France, Belgium and Germany.
