Many airports and airlines in the UK are still in disruption due to heavy snow and blizzard conditions which have affected large areas of Northern Europe.
Flights have not operated since Sataurday afternoon and with the backlog of passengers hoping to re-schedule their flights and travel before Christmas, airports are urging travellers to check the latest news and airport information before making the journey to the airport.
Both Eurotunnel and Brittany Ferries
have reported a surge in last minute bookings as travellers are making alternative arrangements to ensure that they can arrive at their destination in good time for christmas.
A similar situation arose earlier on this year, when thousands of travellers sought last minute alternative arrangements when UK airspace was closed for a number of days due to the Icelandic volcano erruption.
Eurotunnel, Brittany Ferries
and P&O Ferries all report that they still have free space available before christmas, but urge passengers to make contact with them as soon as possible to make their reservation.
