Paramount Murcia : WILL be open by Summer 2015

The Mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Fernando Alfonso Ceron, and President of Proyectos Emblemáticos Murcianos SA (Premursa) - the promoter and developer of the theme park - have signed a new agreement to approve the Special Urban Plan to regulate the development of the theme Park.

The signing of last week's new agreement replaces the orginal one signed in December 2011, and was necessary due to the change of footprint of the park which came about following the failure to purchase the required parcels of land.

The new agreement essentially secures the required urban backing for the project, which is continuing on schedule according to the council, and specifies that the project will create a total of 16,500 new jobs aduring the construction phase, and 6,100 new indirect and direct jobs once operational.

These figures clearly have no resemblance to the 15'000 direct and 20'000 indirect positions promised in March 2012.

Despite not being drawn on giving an exact date of when work at the park will commence, Premursa confirmed that the theme park will still be operational in the first half of 2015.

Paramount seem to have lost around 13'000 positions of Employment since the project was first announced. My money is on the fact that will only actually employ a Gardener, Tea lady and car park attendant by the time / if the time it ever gets to open.

"Signed a new Agreement"? That's OK then. There's just the small matter of the withdrawl of the Paramount Licence to Operate, to discuss..!!
